When approached by SCCYP to provide BSL in-vision and subtitles for a film they had produced with children and young people, they wanted something a little different. It was critically important to them that children and young people were the presenters of the film; it was after all their film about their views, why should adults then present on their behalf? The team took this in their stride and rose quickly to the challenge. The resulting Youth Sports Strategy film is about how children and young people in Scotland access and enjoy sport and  truly has a child-centred approach.
Ezmie McCutcheon, Communications Manager Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People commented on the service “The young presenters were fantastic. We would have no hesitation in recommending for similar work” The reaction to the accessible video has been overwhelming positive and we look forward to promoting our young deaf presenters more in the future. The film was shown at the Government’s Sports and Physical Activity Task Group where the response was also extremely positive.
And the work keeps coming …. was recently commissioned by SCCYP for their eleventh project. We provided BSL in-vision and English subtitles for Sign of the times, their annual reporting video for children and young people. It  is now available to watch online. The video features the Commissioner explaining what he and his office have been up to over the year.
